About

The Story Project is an annual performance run by students of the graduate programs at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY. Each year we invite students from across the graduate schools to submit anonymous stories about their experiences of courage, sadness, excitement, love, joy, exasperation, loss - anything. These stories are then brought to life as monologues performed by a cast of peers.

Our project was met with generous support and enthusiasm in its first three years (2018-2020), and we are continuing to grow and evolve. Our goal is to provide a forum for everyone to share their stories and experiences, and we are always seeking out more diverse stories and perspectives - both in terms of monologues/performers and modes of storytelling. We encourage anyone interested in participating in our show to reach out to us. We want to hear from you.

In previous years, proceeds from the shows have been donated to the NYC Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Fountain House, and the Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention (SAVI) Program at Mount Sinai. The cast votes to select an organization each year.
